Editorial Magazine Usage

In this ‘magazine war’ (we all know that this is not happening, right?!) times, I wanted to make sure that
we all get along and competing magazines will not run the identical image at the same time.
Ok, maybe I did not care about that sooo juch, but I sure wanted to make sure those magazines which cared about this a lot, are still going to use my images.

That’s why we had to come up with a system to prevent this. Here how it works:

First off, every magazine has to sign in once with their information which includes the country they work in. These data are logged into our data base.
Once a magazine does its search in our Search Engine and wants to download a hi res image, this message comes up:

To protect you and your magazine from having a competitor running this image as well, this image will be unavailable to your competitors as soon as you download this hi res image. However, you MUST understand that the editorial usage of this image thus is limited to you and you must agree to use and pay the usual amount of usage fee to us. If you download this image you agree to this. If you are undecided yet, please download the low res version for composition purposes only instead and come back for the hi res download when you are ready.

This is important to read and to understand.

The magazine who downloads, must use the image and pay the usual amount that this mag usual pays us.
You download = we rich. Got it?
Just kidding. Who ever got rich from editorial usage fee’s in the dirt bike industry?

Anyhow, once a mag has downloaded an image and an other mag from the same country wants to download that identical image as well, this comes up:

This image has been downloaded by a (insert your country here) Magazine already.

Please contact Frank Hoppen IMMEDIATELY if you would like an alternative unused Hi-Res image for a publication.

All cool now?
War is over!
Go home!
Get a life and start making bitching stories with even bitchier pictures, All for you and for you only! You are home free now! Peace not war! (If the world just would be as easy to fix as our now happy editorial world…)
